Skills Set and Training

It is very important that survivors entering the shelter receive life skills that will help them succeed in the workforce. While housed at the shelter the following training is provided:

 

JOB READINESS

  • Developing a resume
  • Computer (basic software)
  • Dress for success
  • GED Tutor

Life Skill through Partnering Agencies

  • Parenting classes
  • Anger Management
  • Substance Abuse

All of the organization’s policies and procedures are geared to reflect values, respect and dignity of every survivor who will walk through the doors of our shelter. Alpha Daughters of Zion whole-heartedly support survivors in transition regardless of race, culture, age, economic status or spiritual belief.

Programs

  • “Talk it Out” Group counseling with peers, discussing life issues, families issues and discovering “one’s self”
  • D/IPV ED -Domestic/Intimate Partner VIolence Education
